Trash Day
Privacy policy

Your trash stays on your Mac.

Last updated October 30, 2026

The short version. Trash Day doesn't upload your files, doesn't track you and has no ads or analytics. The only time it goes online is to check a license key with our store.

What the app looks at

To draw the can, the pile and your pickup receipts, Trash Day reads what's in your Mac's Trash: file names, sizes, kinds and when they showed up. It asks Finder to empty the Trash on pickup day. All of this happens on your Mac and is never sent anywhere.

Your settings (pickup day and time, size limit) and your pickup history are saved on your Mac.

License checks

When you enter a license key, Trash Day sends the key and a random ID for this Mac to Lemon Squeezy to activate it. The ID is made up by the app the first time it's needed. It is not your serial number, your name or your Mac's name. The app checks the key again about once a month, and sends the same two things if you deactivate a Mac. Nothing else is sent.

What we don't do

Buying a license

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. They collect what's needed to take payment and send your key, such as your name, email address and payment details, under their privacy policy. We can see your order (name, email, what you bought) to help with support and refunds.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Like any website, our host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.

Your choices

You can ask us what order information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@itstrashday.com. Deleting Trash Day from your Mac removes its settings and history.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
